The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which training is offered by Iain`s Driving School. The provision of training is subject to the acceptance of these terms and conditions:

1. Driving licences and fitness to drive:

​

You must hold a current, valid driving licence, provisional, full or international, and produce it on your first training session. You must be fit to drive with regard to legal and medical requirements.

2. Payments:

 

Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer ( either before or at the start of the lesson )

3. Cancellations:

 

If the pupil wishes to cancel the lesson:

24 hours notice is required. Failure to give the required notice will incur the charge of the full price of the lesson.

If you fail to attend at the appointed time and/ or agreed location, the lesson fee must be paid in full.

4. Money Back Guarantee:

 

We will do everything possible to ensure that the lessons start and finish on time , but reserve the right to cancel, postpone or change lessons , under certain conditions ( eg. adverse weather conditions)
We reserve the right to cancel a lesson, if we suspect that the pupil may be unfit to drive due to the effects of alcohol, drugs (prescribed or otherwise), or any other condition that would cause his/her driving to be dangerous or illegal. In such circumstances, the lesson fee will be payable in full. If we are delayed in collecting the pupil due to unforeseen circumstances, we will inform the pupil of the
estimated time of our arrival. This time will be added on to the end of the lesson, where possible.

5. Payments for recommendations:

 

Pupils will receive £15.00 voucher or credit towards lessons, if they make a recommendation for someone, who goes on to complete three hours of tuition .

6. Training location:

 

All lessons will start and finish at the same location unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. We will determine the location for the practical lessons which ensures, both the pupil and public safety. We may need to drive the pupil to and from the lesson location. This journey time forms part of the lesson, as paid for.

7. Training vehicles:

 

The training vehicle provided will be taxed and insured for the purposes of driving tuition, fully roadworthy and fitted with dual controls.
Pupils who require tuition in their own vehicles must supply evidence from their motor insurer that the car is covered for lessons when being supervised by a professional instructor in return for payment; the car must also be taxed and hold a current MOT certificate where appropriate.

8. Driving tests and bookings:

 

We reserve the right to refuse use of a driving school vehicle for test, if we consider that the provision of a vehicle could/ may cause a risk to public safety. On the day of the test, a minimum two hour booking is required. Payment will be required at the normal rate for the two hour period of that lesson/ test. While we make every effort that the vehicle supplied for test will be fully roadworthy and comply with all legal requirements at he start if the test. We cannot be held responsible for vehicle failure that occurs during within this two hour time slot, and are not liable for
consequential loss. We cannot be held responsible for test appointments which are cancelled by the DVSA due to adverse weather conditions, sickness, staff shortage or other reasons. Such cancellations are beyond our control and therefore the lesson fee and use of car fee, for the booked period will still be charged. We will advise how compensation can be claimed from the DVSA.

9. Code of Conduct:

 

I agree to abide by the conditions of the Professional Code of Conduct (a copy of which can be provided on request). In the unlikely event of complaint or dispute the guidelines of the Code of Conduct will be adhered to.

10.Your rights

 

These conditions do not effect any protection a student has under consumer legislation. We reserve the right to change or alter any of the terms and conditions without notice, but will endeavour to inform pupils of any changes as soon as possible.

By accepting the offer of driving lessons , you are agreeing to abide by these terms and conditions.
